Aims:
Activity 1: Mix and Match
Players tap two cards to flip them face up on an iPad. If the cards match (a photo and its corresponding vocabulary word), the player earns a point and keeps the pair. If the cards do not match, they will automatically flip back over. The game continues until all pairs have been matched.
Aims:
- Enhance Memory Skills: Improve short-term memory and cognitive abilities through matching pairs.
- Vocabulary Building: Reinforce vocabulary recognition and recall using flashcards with images and words.
- Promote Concentration: Encourage focus and attention as players search for matches.
- Foster Social Interaction: Create opportunities for players to engage and communicate with one another.
Activity 2: Inter-class Scrabble Competition (Senior Forms)
Aims:
- To improve vocabulary: Expand word knowledge and spelling skills through gameplay.
- To enhance strategic thinking: Develop critical thinking and strategy as players make decisions on word placement and tile usage.
- To encourage social interaction: Promote teamwork and social skills through collaborative play and friendly competition.
To foster team spirit: The inter-class scrabble competition encourages collaboration and teamwork among students, promoting camaraderie and a sense of belonging.
Students display a strong interest in the "Mix and Match" game.
Class representatives and their supporters are putting their heads together to gain more scores in each turn.
